Disaster Recovery Checklist
A well executed Disaster Recovery plan should be able to answer the following question with a Yes:
"If I donít have physical access to my computer, will I still be able to get work done?Ē
If your answer to that question is currently ďNoĒ, here are a few things to consider.
A) Do you make daily copies /backups of your organizationís information? In the event of a problem, you shouldnít have to lose more than a few hoursí work if your backup plan is well organized.
B) Do you have all the software you need?
- If you make copies of your organizationís information, where do those copies go?
If they stay in your office, and you canít get to your office, itís almost as if you donít have a backup. Consider a safe means of offsite storage.
- Do you have a list of all the software your organization uses? Do you know where all the CDs /installation disks for the software are? Can you install them on another computer in the event of a disaster?
- Do you have copies of your CDs? Where do you keep your copies if you have them?
